Mythopia
Privacy Policy
Effective: 1 November 2026 · See also Mythopia Support
Short version: Mythopia is a turn-based fantasy strategy game. The game does not ask anyone for personal information, has no accounts, shows no ads and uses no tracking or analytics. Your saved games, progress and settings stay on your device, and the game can be played fully offline. Part of the game can be bought (factions, campaigns, the complete game): Apple or Google handles the payment, and RevenueCat checks purchases for us using a random ID that says nothing about who you are.

2. What the game saves on your device
The game saves the following only on your device, in the app's own storage (and, like other app data, in your own backups of the device, which we cannot access). It is never sent to us, and we cannot see it:
- Your saved games: the game you can continue from the main menu and your attempt at the weekly challenge
- Your progress: the campaign missions you have finished, your scores, stars and records
- Your settings: language, music and sound volume, battle speed, map zoom and graphics style
- When the game last asked you to rate it, so that it does not ask too often
- Which factions and campaigns you have unlocked, so that they also work offline
- A short technical note if the game last closed unexpectedly (the screen it was on, the graphics level and the memory in use), so that it can start more safely next time. You can see it in the menu; it is not sent anywhere.
If you use Export save, the game makes a file with your saved games and it goes only where you choose to send it. If you send it to us for help, we use it only to answer you and then delete it.
The game never asks for a name, email address, age, photo or location, and there is nowhere to type them.
3. Purchases
Part of Mythopia is free, and more of the game can be bought with real money: extra factions, campaigns and the complete game. Each of these is bought once and stays yours. Every purchase goes through the store's own payment window: on iPhone and iPad the App Store (Apple), on Android Google Play (Google Play Billing, with Google as the payment processor). Apple or Google handles the payment. We never see your name, email address, billing address or payment details.
We use RevenueCat to check that a purchase is real, so that the game can unlock it and "Restore Purchases" can bring it back. RevenueCat's software starts with the game. Whenever the game is open with an internet connection (for example when it starts, and when you buy or restore a purchase), even if you never buy anything, RevenueCat receives:
- A random app ID that RevenueCat creates on your device the first time the game starts (Google Play lists it under "Device or other IDs"). It contains nothing about you. Deleting the app deletes it from the device, and a new one is made if the game is installed again, with two exceptions on Android: if Google backup is turned on, Android may bring the same ID back together with the game's data (see section 6.1); and if you have bought something, RevenueCat also keeps the ID in Google's Block Store backup in your Google account, so that tapping "Restore Purchases" after reinstalling the game, or on a new phone, can link the new ID to the old one.
- On iPhone and iPad only: Apple's identifier for vendor, a device ID that Apple gives to all apps from the same developer. It is not the advertising ID, and a new one is given if all our apps are deleted from the device and one is installed again.
- On Android: apart from the random app ID above, no hardware device ID and no advertising ID (Google advertising ID) is collected or sent.
- The purchase receipts from the App Store or Google Play: which product was bought, when, at what price, and in which store country and currency.
- Technical details that RevenueCat's software sends with each request, such as the device's IP address, the device model, the device's language, the store country, the version of the app and of iOS or Android.
RevenueCat does not receive your name, email address, Apple Account or Google account. We can see the purchase records in RevenueCat, but they carry no name or contact details, so we cannot tell who made a purchase. They are used to unlock and restore purchases and to show us overall sales figures (for example, how many of each product were sold), never for advertising, tracking or building a profile of anyone.
RevenueCat, Inc. is based in the United States. It processes this data only on our behalf and on our instructions (as our "processor"), under its data processing agreement, which uses the EU Standard Contractual Clauses for the transfer to the US. The legal basis is that the data is needed to deliver what you buy: to carry out a purchase (GDPR Article 6(1)(b)) and, at start, to make sure that no purchase is lost (our legitimate interest, Article 6(1)(f)); the overall sales figures also rest on our legitimate interest in knowing how the game sells (Article 6(1)(f)). The purchase records stay in RevenueCat for as long as Mythopia uses RevenueCat to deliver purchases; if you ask, we delete a record sooner (see section 6).
Apple's, Google's and RevenueCat's own privacy policies apply to what they process: apple.com/legal/privacy, policies.google.com/privacy and revenuecat.com/privacy.
On Android, the Google Play components built into the game (Google Play Billing, the rating window and Google Play services) exchange technical data with Google under Google's own privacy policy. We receive none of it.
4. What the game does not do
- No accounts and no sign-in
- No ads, no advertising ID and no tracking across other apps or websites
- No analytics or crash-reporting services in the game (the only statistics we see are the overall sales figures from the purchase records, see section 3)
- No location, camera, microphone, contacts or photos
- No chat, no social media and no way for players to contact each other
Now and then, for example after a victory, the game may ask you to rate it. It does this with Apple's or Google's own rating window: your rating and review go to Apple or Google, and the game does not see them.
5. Children's privacy
Mythopia is a strategy game for a general audience and is not made especially for children. Still, it is built to collect as little as possible about anyone, children included:
- United States (COPPA): the game does not ask for or collect a name, email address, photo, location or any other contact details from anyone, including children under 13. The only information that reaches us or RevenueCat is the purchase data in section 3. RevenueCat processes it for us only to check and deliver purchases and to give us overall sales figures; it is never used to contact anyone, to build a profile or to show ads.
- European Union (GDPR): the same. We do not ask for, collect or keep a name or contact details of children or of anyone else. The only personal data involved is the pseudonymous purchase data in section 3, used only to check and deliver purchases and for overall sales figures.
- Purchases: every purchase goes through the App Store's or Google Play's own payment window; the game adds no question of its own. On iPhone and iPad, parents can turn on Ask to Buy in Family Sharing or turn off in-app purchases in Screen Time. On Android, parents can turn on "Require authentication for purchases" in the Google Play settings, and with Family Link a child's purchases can need a parent's approval.
- There are no ads, no tracking and no chat, so no one can reach a child through the game.
Parents: if you have a question, or if you think your child's information has reached us in some way (for example in an email your child sent us), write to us and we will delete it.
6. Your rights
Under the GDPR and similar laws, you can ask us (the developer named in section 1, who is responsible for this data) to see, correct or delete the personal data we hold about you, object to how it is used, and complain to the data protection authority where you live.
We hold no name, email address or account for any player. The purchase records in RevenueCat carry no name, only the IDs and receipt details described in section 3, so we cannot link them to you on our own. If you want a purchase record deleted, write to us; to find it, we may need details from your App Store or Google Play receipt, such as the date and the product. If you write to us, we use your email address and message only to answer you.
6.1 Deleting what the game saved
Deleting the app from your device deletes everything the game saved on it, including your saved games, progress and settings. On Android you can also delete it without removing the app: Settings → Apps → Mythopia → Storage → Clear storage. We cannot bring your saves back, because we never had a copy. On Android, if Google backup is turned on, Android keeps a copy of the game's data in your Google account and may restore your saves (and the random purchase ID) when you reinstall Mythopia; you can delete that copy in your phone's Google backup settings. What you bought is not lost: purchases are kept by Apple or Google, and "Restore Purchases" in the game's shop unlocks them again after a new install or on another device with the same Apple Account or Google account.
7. Data security
The game talks to no server of ours. Apart from emails you choose to send us and the purchase records in section 3, we hold nothing of yours. What the game saves stays in the app's own storage on your device, which other apps cannot read, and is protected by your device's own security. Purchase checks with RevenueCat travel over an encrypted connection. The Support and Privacy buttons in the game open our website (rodigital.org) in your browser; the website's own privacy notice applies there.
8. Changes to this policy
If we change this policy, the new version will be published on this page first and the "Effective" date at the top will change. Important changes will also be mentioned in the game's update notes in the App Store and on Google Play.
9. Questions
For any question about this policy or about how Mythopia handles data, write to the address in section 1.
